Hydraulic breaker diaphragm features
Function: The diaphragm serves as a partition between the hydraulic oil chamber and the nitrogen gas chamber within the breaker's backhead. It ensures that these two elements remain separate while allowing them to work together effectively.
Material: Hydraulic breaker diaphragms are typically made from high-quality rubber or elastomeric materials that can withstand both the pressure exerted by the hydraulic oil and the compressive forces of the nitrogen gas without deforming or rupturing. They must be resistant to wear, tear, and degradation from hydraulic fluids and environmental factors.
Design: The diaphragm is designed with precise dimensions to ensure a tight seal. It usually has reinforced edges to prevent tearing under extreme pressure fluctuations during operation.
Pressure Regulation: As hydraulic oil enters the breaker, it pushes against the diaphragm, which in turn compresses the nitrogen gas. This action transmits energy to the working piston, causing the chisel to strike. The diaphragm regulates this pressure transfer efficiently.
Energy Storage: The diaphragm also acts as an energy storage medium. When the hydraulic oil pressure decreases after each blow, the compressed nitrogen gas behind the diaphragm expands, pushing the hydraulic oil out to reset the piston, preparing the breaker for the next impact cycle.
Maintenance Importance: Since the diaphragm is subjected to continuous cycles of high-pressure changes, it is considered a wearable part and needs regular inspection and replacement when worn or damaged to maintain optimal hydraulic breaker performance.
